GEMS – GIRLS’ CLUB
Our New Theme for the upcoming year will be PRAYER-No Worries!
Prayer Pals! Ladies, are you willing to share with a GEM the power of prayer? Each week you and your Prayer Pal will exchange prayers and will have to pray weekly for each other through cards, letters, etc. We will also be working on prayer journals weekly, hopefully daily for the older GEMS. You will be developing a personal relationship right from the start. We would like to see each Prayer Pal come in once a month more/less and help their prayer pal with their prayer journals, pray together and talk about answered prayers and how prayers have helped them with life.  Also, we would love it if you could bring snacks on the night you come and stay with your prayer pal through out the night during worship, devotions, lessons and crafts. This will be more involved and require a little more time than the secret pals did, but I think it would be a wonderful experience for everyone! Maybe us counselor will even venture out of our comfort zone and have a prayer pal! Lord willing, of course.
Are you a Prayer Warrior Women? Are you a prayful lady that can pray for us on a weekly basis? We would also like to have a few neighborhood prayers organized, possibly one in the fall and another one in the spring. Maybe even around Christmas when so many people need to feel the hand of the Lord upon them. We will have more details as time gets closer to the start of GEMS. Please consider! I know there are a lot of Prayer Warrior Women out there!
Finishing Touches: Is there a Lady who would love to share what it means to be a Lady of the Lord? Our older GEMS will be working on the Finishing Touches badge that teaches them etiquette, manners, how to dress and act in an appropriate manner. It teaches girls to how to be a beautiful, godly girl on the inside and outside. This will be a weekly lesson that includes outings such as how to shop for clothes, applying make-up, fixing hair, etc.

Snacks- The GEMS will also be asking if there are any ladies willing to bake snacks a few times throughout the year. Snacks can be something that can is left in the freezer on Sunday or brought to GEMS on Wednesday and helped served.
Please take some time and pray about the new opportunities. If you are interested in looking over the material, contact Falicia Anderson or Karen DeGroot. Remember, the kids are our future but also our Present! We appreciate everyone’s willingness to help out! Thank you!

Looking Back, Looking Forward

One of the spiritual disciplines that I try to accomplish every year is to read through the Bible in a year. To help me accomplish the goal, I have purchased a One Year Bible.
