DEACON’S CORNER
Malachi 3:10b- “…Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it…”
This verse from the prophet Malachi reflects the trust that God was calling the returned exiles to exhibit as they were faced with the daunting task of rebuilding the temple. They didn’t see how they were to accomplish that task given the resources they held. God was letting them know that if they obeyed and brought their tithes in trust and obedience, they would experience more blessing than they could begin to comprehend. They would drown in blessing as the floodgates of heaven poured it out on them!
This same faithful God, who never changes, seeks for us to experience that same flood of blessing. The same challenge those exiles faced is ours: are we willing to trust God by giving to Him in accordance with His blessing to us? As deacons, we remind ourselves and the congregation of the call of our Father and the accompanying promise of blessing upon blessing.
Again, we thank you for your giving. We remind you that the Communion offering each month is designated for the Celebrate Recovery program. Our obligation each month is $1,100. Please consider this need in your giving for that offering as we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who are drawn to Him through this work.
Thank you to those who specifically contributed to the general fund for the purpose of covering the expenses involved in the search for a new pastor.
